At the heart of the Megastar operation is a unique and patented double blade system which allows for a particularly effortless, smooth and clean cut. This perfect cutting surface ensures the storage density of the silage and helps reduce fodder costs significantly; no oxygen will reach the interior of the silage.

This model pictures was demonstrated on a dairy farm in Southland, this silage was approx 25% DM and these blocks were ranging between 1200 & 1400 kgs in weight, (the wagon has scales) and was being lifted out with a 130 HP MF 5465 tractor and loading into a 16 Cubic Metre Ag Trailer silage wagon. Something that cannot be achieved with the traditional silage Shear grab.

BvL silage block cutters prevent any loosening of the silage and preserve its storage density. They, thereby, minimize the penetration of oxygen at the silage clamp face. The quality of the silage is retained, and losses resulting from reheated fodder are reduced. The cutting bar is nearly maintenance-free and is particularly well suited for demanding professional applications.

The transversal cutting unit is made of fully hardened special steel and is equipped with two counter-acting knives – for a particularly smooth and powerful cut. The V-LOAD Cutter Megastar uses a split transversal blade for cutting. Each of the front knives runs towards its counterpart – eliminating shear forces. This movement allows the cutting bar to work its way through the silage smoothly and effortlessly. The knives as well as the entire cutting bar are made of highly wear-resistant steel (HB400), providing for a long service life.
